What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under three brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic an excellent amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.
Considerations: Vesgantti Production Place
The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some motion, minimizing how much motion is felt throughout the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some movement transfer when their partner changes position or gets up throughout the night due to the bed mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva absorbs somewhat more movement than the Luxury Company and Firm choices.
While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving potential, the quantity of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the mattress will differ based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Luxurious Soft version of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and assistance from the Company version.
Note: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the distinctions below. We plan to evaluate the new version soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mainly of latex, which is intrinsically durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove practical if you’re not sure what you choose or if your requirements alter gradually. This is not a traditionally soft mattress, but it uses a flexible cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness. Provided its inherent sturdiness, the Zenhaven needs to work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
These bed mattress were likewise evaluated in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve interviewed ratings of experts in the mattress market and in materials science; checked out dozens of mattress shops, factories, and showrooms; and pored over the great print on specifications, guarantees, and return policies.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. But we do understand that the company utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “optimal spine support”; we’re less satisfied with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and long lasting foams and coils.
