What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under three brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Between these three brand names, the company sells several bed mattress designs, consisting of the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Suitable for: People with more specific firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples looking for a mix of pressure relief and bounce Most online mattresses are foams or hybrids, so the Saatva Classic sticks out. It is among the few innerspring mattresses you can easily purchase online. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic an excellent quantity of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. Also, similar to all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also uses a generous 180-day trial duration and easy returns.

The Saatva’s convenience system utilizes thinner layers of foam than numerous hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill soak up some motion, decreasing how much motion is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up during the night due to the bed mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva takes in a little more motion than the Luxury Firm and Company choices.
While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving potential, the amount of pressure relief that a specific experiences on the mattress will differ based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Plush Soft variation of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and support from the Firm variation.
Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions below. We prepare to check the brand-new variation soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might show useful if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your needs alter over time. This is not a traditionally soft bed mattress, but it uses a supple cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness.
These bed mattress were also assessed in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I’ve spoken with scores of specialists in the bed mattress market and in materials science; visited dozens of bed mattress display rooms, shops, and factories; and pored over the fine print on specs, guarantees, and return policies.

Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid created for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. We do know that the business uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column support”; we’re less amazed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and long lasting foams and coils.
