What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end bed mattress under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a good quantity of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.
Factors to consider: Sheets That Fit Serta Icomfort Mattresses 12 Deep
The Saatva’s comfort system uses thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some motion, minimizing how much movement is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some movement transfer when their partner changes position or gets up during the night due to the bed mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva soaks up slightly more movement than the Luxury Firm and Firm alternatives.
While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving potential, the amount of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the mattress will vary based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most press relief on the Plush Soft variation of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and assistance from the Firm version.
Keep in mind: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the distinctions below. We prepare to check the new variation soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is intrinsically long lasting. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which might show handy if you’re unsure what you prefer or if your requirements alter over time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, but it provides a flexible cushion, good edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Offered its inherent sturdiness, the Zenhaven must work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
These mattresses were likewise examined in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve spoken with ratings of experts in the mattress market and in products science; gone to lots of mattress factories, shops, and display rooms; and pored over the great print on specifications, warranties, and return policies.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brand names. We do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (rather of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “ideal spine assistance”; we’re less impressed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and resilient foams and coils.
