What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.

When their partner stirs may discover the Saatva transfers more movement than perfect, people who are easily awoken People who like the hug of memory foam might not feel the Saatva conforms closely enough The Saatva’s convenience system utilizes thinner layers of foam than many hybrid designs. Note: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the differences below. We plan to evaluate the brand-new version soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists primarily of latex, which is inherently durable. The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which may show valuable if you’re unsure what you choose or if your needs change gradually. This is not a traditionally soft mattress, but it provides a flexible cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Provided its inherent durability, the Zenhaven should work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for a number of weeks in my own home. These mattresses were likewise examined in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve talked to scores of specialists in the bed mattress industry and in materials science; visited lots of mattress shops, showrooms, and factories; and read the small print on requirements, warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for a number of weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. However we do understand that the company utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (instead of chemicals or fiberglass) and only organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “optimal spine support”; we’re less amazed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and durable foams and coils.
