Note: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the distinctions listed below. We prepare to test the new variation quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is inherently resilient. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove valuable if you’re not sure what you choose or if your requirements alter in time. This is not a traditionally cushy mattress, but it provides a flexible cushion, great edge support, and a subtle springiness. Offered its natural resilience, the Zenhaven must work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brand names. We do understand that the business uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and just organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spine support”; we’re less pleased with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and resilient foams and coils.
