What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under three brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic an excellent quantity of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.
Factors to consider: Saatva Mattress Correct Placement
The Saatva’s convenience system uses thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some movement, lowering how much movement is felt throughout the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some movement transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up during the night due to the mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft variation of the Saatva takes in a little more movement than the Luxury Company and Firm alternatives.
While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving capacity, the quantity of pressure relief that a specific experiences on the mattress will differ based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most press relief on the Plush Soft variation of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and assistance from the Company variation.
Note: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions below. We plan to check the brand-new variation quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show valuable if you’re not sure what you choose or if your requirements change over time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, but it provides a supple cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for numerous weeks in my own home. These mattresses were likewise assessed in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve talked to scores of specialists in the bed mattress market and in products science; checked out lots of bed mattress factories, display rooms, and shops; and pored over the fine print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies. Most recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for several weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brand names. But we do know that the company utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (instead of chemicals or fiberglass) and only natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “optimum spine support”; we’re less amazed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and durable foams and coils.
