What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva concentrates on direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under 3 trademark name: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. In between these 3 brand names, the business offers numerous mattress designs, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Perfect for: People with more specific firmness preferences Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples trying to find a mix of pressure relief and bounce Many online mattresses are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic stands apart. It’s one of the few innerspring mattresses you can easily buy online. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. Likewise, similar to all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also uses a generous 180-day trial period and easy returns.

Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the distinctions below. We prepare to test the brand-new version quickly and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show helpful if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements change over time. This is not a conventionally soft bed mattress, but it uses a flexible cushion, great edge assistance, and a subtle springiness.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own house. These bed mattress were also evaluated in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve interviewed scores of experts in the bed mattress industry and in materials science; gone to dozens of mattress stores, showrooms, and factories; and read the small print on specifications, service warranties, and return policies. Most just recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for a number of weeks.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. We do know that the company utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and just natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva promotes such bonus as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column assistance”; we’re less impressed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and resilient foams and coils.
