What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under three brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.

Keep in mind: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the differences listed below. We plan to test the new variation quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mainly of latex, which is fundamentally resilient. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which might show handy if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your needs change with time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Provided its natural sturdiness, the Zenhaven ought to work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for a number of weeks in my own home. These mattresses were likewise assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve talked to scores of specialists in the bed mattress industry and in materials science; visited dozens of bed mattress showrooms, shops, and factories; and pored over the small print on specifications, guarantees, and return policies. Most just recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for numerous weeks.
Making sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with an option of firmness levels and dealing with almost every convenience preference– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Saatva Furniture
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid created for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. But we do know that the business uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (rather than chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “optimal spine support”; we’re less satisfied with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and long lasting foams and coils.
