What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under three brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.
Factors to consider: Saatva 4 King Size Mattress
The Saatva’s convenience system utilizes thinner layers of foam than many hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some movement, lowering how much movement is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some movement transfer when their partner changes position or gets up throughout the night due to the mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva absorbs a little more motion than the High-end Company and Firm alternatives. While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving capacity, the quantity of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the mattress will vary based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Plush Soft version of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Company version.
Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions listed below. We prepare to evaluate the brand-new version soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might show practical if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements change over time. This is not a conventionally soft bed mattress, however it offers a flexible cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own home. These mattresses were also examined in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I’ve interviewed ratings of professionals in the bed mattress market and in materials science; gone to dozens of bed mattress factories, display rooms, and shops; and read the fine print on specifications, guarantees, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for numerous weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brand names. We do understand that the business utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only natural cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column assistance”; we’re less satisfied with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and long lasting foams and coils.
