What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under 3 brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a good quantity of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.
Considerations: Reshrink Your Memory Foam Mattress
The Saatva’s comfort system uses thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill soak up some movement, lowering how much movement is felt throughout the surface of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some movement transfer when their partner changes position or gets up throughout the night due to the mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva takes in somewhat more motion than the High-end Firm and Company options.
While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving potential, the quantity of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most press relief on the Plush Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Firm version.
Keep in mind: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the differences listed below. We plan to check the brand-new version quickly and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove handy if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs alter over time. This is not a traditionally soft bed mattress, but it offers a supple cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness.
These bed mattress were likewise assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve spoken with ratings of experts in the mattress market and in materials science; checked out lots of mattress showrooms, factories, and shops; and pored over the great print on specs, warranties, and return policies.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. We do know that the business utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (rather of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “optimum spine assistance”; we’re less pleased with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and resilient foams and coils.
