What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.

The Saatva’s convenience system uses thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some motion, decreasing how much motion is felt across the surface area of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner changes position or gets up throughout the night due to the mattress’s two layers of springs.Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva absorbs a little more movement than the High-end Firm and Firm options.
While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving potential, the amount of pressure relief that a specific experiences on the mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Plush Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and assistance from the Firm variation.
Note: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the differences listed below. We plan to check the new variation quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists primarily of latex, which is fundamentally durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show valuable if you’re unsure what you prefer or if your requirements alter in time. This is not a conventionally soft mattress, but it uses a flexible cushion, great edge support, and a subtle springiness. Offered its innate sturdiness, the Zenhaven must work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for a number of weeks in my own house. These mattresses were also examined in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring mattresses. We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. We do know that the business uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva promotes such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column support”; we’re less amazed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and long lasting foams and coils.
