What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a good quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.
Considerations: Does The Saatva Mattress Cover Prevent Bed Bugs
The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than numerous hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some motion, minimizing how much motion is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some motion transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up throughout the night due to the mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft variation of the Saatva soaks up a little more movement than the Luxury Company and Company alternatives. While all of the Saatva firmness options have pressure-relieving potential, the quantity of pressure relief that a private experiences on the mattress will differ based partly on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Luxurious Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Company variation.
Note: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the distinctions below. We plan to check the brand-new version soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show useful if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs change over time. This is not a traditionally cushy bed mattress, but it offers a supple cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for numerous weeks in my own house. These bed mattress were also assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I’ve spoken with scores of specialists in the mattress industry and in products science; checked out lots of bed mattress showrooms, factories, and stores; and read the small print on specifications, guarantees, and return policies. Most just recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for several weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. But we do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva promotes such bonus as zoned layers for “ideal spine support”; we’re less satisfied with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and long lasting foams and coils.
