What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under three brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.

The all-foam Zenhaven consists primarily of latex, which is fundamentally long lasting. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which may prove helpful if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements change with time. This is not a traditionally cushy mattress, but it uses a supple cushion, great edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Offered its innate sturdiness, the Zenhaven should work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for a number of weeks in my own home. These mattresses were likewise examined in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I have actually talked to ratings of professionals in the mattress market and in products science; gone to lots of bed mattress display rooms, stores, and factories; and pored over the small print on requirements, warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for several weeks.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. We do know that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and just organic cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column assistance”; we’re less amazed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and long lasting foams and coils.
