What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under 3 brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic an excellent quantity of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.
Factors to consider: Do Saatva Mattresses Hold Up
The Saatva’s convenience system utilizes thinner layers of foam than many hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some motion, minimizing how much movement is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up during the night due to the mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft variation of the Saatva absorbs slightly more motion than the Luxury Firm and Company options. While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that a private experiences on the bed mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Plush Soft variation of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and assistance from the Firm version.Note: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the differences listed below. We plan to check the brand-new version quickly and will update this guide with our impressions.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaAjJvmj8zo
The all-foam Zenhaven consists primarily of latex, which is fundamentally resilient. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which may prove valuable if you’re not sure what you choose or if your requirements change gradually. This is not a traditionally cushy mattress, however it provides a flexible cushion, great edge support, and a subtle springiness. Given its inherent toughness, the Zenhaven should work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for numerous weeks in my own house. These bed mattress were also evaluated in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve spoken with ratings of specialists in the bed mattress market and in materials science; checked out dozens of bed mattress showrooms, factories, and shops; and pored over the fine print on requirements, guarantees, and return policies. Most just recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for several weeks.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. We do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and just organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva promotes such bonus as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column support”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and resilient foams and coils.
