What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under three brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.

People who are easily woken up when their partner stirs may find the Saatva transfers more movement than suitable People who like the hug of memory foam might not feel the Saatva conforms carefully enough The Saatva’s convenience system utilizes thinner layers of foam than many hybrid designs. Keep in mind: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the differences below. We plan to test the brand-new version soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is inherently long lasting. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might show handy if you’re uncertain what you choose or if your requirements change over time. This is not a traditionally cushy mattress, however it uses a supple cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness. Offered its natural durability, the Zenhaven should work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for several weeks in my own house. These bed mattress were likewise examined in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I’ve interviewed scores of experts in the mattress industry and in materials science; gone to dozens of bed mattress showrooms, factories, and shops; and read the fine print on requirements, warranties, and return policies. Most just recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for several weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. However we do know that the business uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (rather than chemicals or fiberglass) and only organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spine assistance”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and long lasting foams and coils.
