What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva concentrates on direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. In between these 3 brand names, the company offers several mattress models, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Ideal for: Individuals with more particular firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples searching for a combination of pressure relief and bounce A lot of online bed mattress are foams or hybrids, so the Saatva Classic sticks out. It’s one of the few innerspring bed mattress you can easily buy online. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic an excellent amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. Likewise, as with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also uses a generous 180-day trial duration and simple returns.
Considerations: Cost Of The Saatva Mattress
The Saatva’s comfort system uses thinner layers of foam than numerous hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill absorb some motion, decreasing how much movement is felt throughout the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up throughout the night due to the mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva absorbs somewhat more movement than the Luxury Firm and Company options. While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving potential, the amount of pressure relief that a private experiences on the mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most press relief on the Luxurious Soft variation of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Firm version.
Keep in mind: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions listed below. We prepare to evaluate the brand-new version soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mainly of latex, which is inherently long lasting. The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which may show handy if you’re not exactly sure what you choose or if your requirements change in time. This is not a traditionally soft bed mattress, but it provides a flexible cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness. Provided its inherent durability, the Zenhaven should work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own home. These mattresses were also evaluated in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the best innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve spoken with scores of specialists in the bed mattress industry and in products science; gone to dozens of bed mattress shops, factories, and showrooms; and pored over the small print on specifications, warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for numerous weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brand names. We do understand that the business uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (rather of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva promotes such bonus as zoned layers for “optimum spine support”; we’re less amazed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and resilient foams and coils.
