What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end bed mattress under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.

Individuals who are easily woken up when their partner stirs may find the Saatva transfers more movement than perfect Individuals who like the hug of memory foam may not feel the Saatva adheres closely adequate The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than numerous hybrid designs. Note: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the distinctions below. We prepare to evaluate the brand-new version soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mainly of latex, which is intrinsically durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show practical if you’re unsure what you choose or if your needs change gradually. This is not a conventionally soft bed mattress, however it provides a supple cushion, good edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Provided its innate resilience, the Zenhaven needs to work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own house. These mattresses were also evaluated in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the best innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I have actually spoken with scores of professionals in the mattress market and in materials science; checked out lots of bed mattress shops, display rooms, and factories; and read the fine print on specifications, warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for a number of weeks.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. However we do understand that the business utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column assistance”; we’re less impressed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and resilient foams and coils.
