What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva focuses on direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under 3 trademark name: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. In between these 3 brands, the business sells numerous mattress models, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Ideal for: People with more particular firmness preferences Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples looking for a mix of pressure relief and bounce A lot of online mattresses are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic stands apart. It is among the few innerspring mattresses you can easily purchase online. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. Also, similar to all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also provides a generous 180-day trial duration and simple returns.

Note: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the distinctions listed below. We plan to check the new variation soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which may prove handy if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements alter over time. This is not a traditionally cushy mattress, however it uses a supple cushion, great edge support, and a subtle springiness.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own home. These mattresses were also examined in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve spoken with scores of professionals in the bed mattress market and in materials science; visited lots of mattress factories, shops, and display rooms; and read the fine print on requirements, warranties, and return policies. Most just recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for numerous weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. However we do know that the company utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (instead of chemicals or fiberglass) and only organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “ideal spine assistance”; we’re less amazed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and durable foams and coils.
