His travels with the First Lady of Gospel, Shirley Caesar, led to the text, Shirley Caesar: A Woman of Words, (housed in the Schomburg Library, Harlem, New York). In addition, he has written about Albertina Walker, Inez Andrews, Rev. James Cleveland, Dorothy Norwood, Cassietta George, Gloria Washington, Lou Rawls and Joe Lagon.
