Dr. Brooksie Harrington

Associate Professor of English at Fayetteville State University. His travels with the First Lady of Gospel, Shirley Caesar, led to the text, Shirley Caesar: A Woman of Words, (housed in the Schomburg Library, Harlem, New York). In addition, he has written about Albertina Walker, Inez Andrews, Rev. James Cleveland, Dorothy Norwood, Cassietta George, Gloria Washington, Lou Rawls and Joe Lagon. Portions of his music CD, Delivered Through the Flood, are included on his documentary film: Princeville Remembers the Flood (2004), produced by the North Carolina Language and Life Project of North Carolina State University.
